Awards for Another Two Projects!

Some interesting news was brought to our attention recently when two schools we worked on will be rewarded national recognition for raising the bar for considerate construction.

Alford Community Campus was completed in early January of this year, while Noss Primary was a much more recent completion, on reaching it’s final stages earlier this month.

Both sites came out in the top 3 places in the Considerate Constructor Scheme’s National Site Awards, earning a silver and bronze.

The schools were praised for how considerate the sites were during the development stage to the surrounding neighbourhoods, the local public, workforce and to the environment.

The Considerate Constructor Scheme has been awarding and recognising the best since it’s inception in 1999 and has always worked towards improving the construction industry’s overall image.

Everything from the appearance and state of the construction site, showing respect to the local community, reducing the amount of pollution whether it be light, air or noise and putting in place the proper safety precautions are highly valued by the scheme, and plays a huge part in the criteria for the awards.

Consideration of the site’s surroundings, the environment, the community it is within and the workforce on site itself remains an integral focus of all hub North Scotland projects so to be recognised with two national awards is extremely pleasing.

Our operating territory spans the length and breadth of northern Scotland, from Oban and Dunoon right through to Shetland and with each individual project comes its own unique set of challenges, whether it is weather, site location or even the build itself. Preparation for these challenges is key and overcoming them is vital to maintaining a project that is considerate to its location and its people.” Said Chief Executive Angus Macfarlane, who was very pleased that both of these schools have achieved this recognition.

Andrew Devlin, Managing Director of Curtis More said: “Yvonne and I, together with the Curtis Moore team, are extremely proud to have played a part in projects which have gained such prestigious industry recognition”.

We were delighted that we could be involved in such impressive projects, and we are glad that the hard work that went into both sites has been recognised by the Considerate Constructor Scheme.
